Northern Rivers Marines Services is currently the proud owners of over 30 vessels equipped to cater to a variety of marine requirements. Our vessels are surveyed for commercial use, and certified for scaffolding up to 5m high. We are able to provide you with the right advice and guidance to match your vessel with an appropriate mooring based on RMS location specifications, and provide ongoing inspection and maintenance services.
After making the her five thousand kilometre journey from Karratha, Western Australia to Iluka, New South Wales in June 2020, Mek 1 has been used in a variety of marine services to Clarence and surrounding rivers.
Mek 1 is a 13.6m wash deck barge propelled by a 200 hp Volvo Penta turbo charged, dual propelled engine. The vessel is equipped with a 5T hydraulic deck winch, making lifting and servicing moorings safe and efficient for our customers.
The twenty three square metre deck space enables our crew to carry loads of up to 4 tonnes of equipment to your chosen destination, making this barge the perfect choice for all river maintenance and construction.
Powered by a 115hp Suzuki outboard engine, this flat bottom punt is equipped with a hiab crane and winch capable of lifting moorings as well as transporting and providing solid foundations for scaffolding of up to 5 metres in height.
Suma Suma has assisted us in maintaining river markers for Solar Tech as well as installing moorings along the Clarence and the Tweed rivers.
Suma Suma is commercially registered and supplied with all necessary safety equipment. This work punt is also road trailerable, making it the perfect river and canal maintenance vessel for our customers anywhere on the North Coast of New South Wales.
Northern Rivers Marine Services are proud owners of over 20 work barges which enable us to reach all areas of the rivers across the North Coast of New South Wales.
They have been custom built so our teams can access all river and coastal areas. The flat aluminium bottom allow us to safely beach the boats on river banks and beaches while the crew fill the hull with rubbish and debris. The depth of the hull allow for vessel stability as well as enabling us to lean against when picking litter from the water or in between low branches on the river banks.
Each punt is powered by 1 to 2 outboard engines driven by qualified staff and checked regularly.
Our most common sized boat are our 6m,7m and 8m barges which have been designed especially so they can be transported by car and trailer enabling us to travel to requested areas across New South Wales and Queensland.
Each of these work punts are powered by outboard engines ranging from 60 to 120hp. Over the last 10 months these boats have helped clean 15 rivers, covering almost 3000km.This includes the restoration of the Richmond and Wilson rivers which were cleaned twice following the devastating floods of 2021.
We have variations of our work barges, with punts ranging between 5.5m and 10m.
Additional work boats on top of these, include our rescue boat called 'The Crickey' and 4 Jet Skis which assist us in our coastal salvages. Again, these are all transportable by car and trailer with our most recent salvage taking us to Hats Head.
All our vessels are commercially registered and supplied with all necessary safety equipment.
